
While there are no set requirements except that the student be physically and mentally alert and willing to work at learning how to weld, it is highly recommended that students have at least a sixth(6th) grade literacy level for basic reading, comprehension and math skills. The basic course is taught in two consecutive six(6) week sessions for a total of 192 hours of combined class instruction, lecture and practice over a twelve(12) week period. The course includes approximately 4 hours of combined classroom, booth instruction and practice each day. Morning classes begin at 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Afternoon classes begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.. All classes are Monday to Thursday.
