
Program Overview
This basic course is designed to teach beginning welders arc welding skills. They cover virtually all phases of arc welding from striking an arc to using semi-automatic equipment. Instructors are both excellent welders and fine teachers. Films, videos and handouts are used to reinforce classroom instruction. Students spend about 90% of their time actually welding with less than 10% being spent in group instruction, plate preparation and clean up.
Class Enrollment and Participation
To ensure individuals attention, the total enrollment per class is restricted to fifteen(15) students, allowing the instructor to keep close watch at all times to monitor each student's individual progress. Helpful hints and techniques learned during many years of experience are passed from instructor to student as each student receives competent and top quality training at the Tang How Brothers Welding and Fabricating Learning Center. The facilities provides for group classroom instruction and one student per booth to maximize learning potential and assure each students' confidence and skill in welding.
Accreditation and Certification
Tang How Brothers Inc. instructors are nationally certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) and the V.I. Department of Vocational Education. The Lincoln Electric Welding Company's course cirriculum that will be utilized by Tang How Brothers Inc. for the program is nationally recognized and meets all of the requirements of the American Welding Society.
